Established to house the soldiers working in the nearby marshalling yards during the Second World War. Nass Lane Camp was later pressed into service as Prisoner of War Camp housing at different times both Germans and Italians. After the war it was used to house the many soldiers needing homes of their own after returning from the War. The last families left these huts in the late 1950s/early 1960s. After that period it was used for a while as a small industrial estate but sadly most of the huts have now either fell down or have been demolished. This old camp is on private land, please respect this at all times.
