This now thriving industrial estate was established as a marshalling yard to collect some of the vast stores needed to supply the US Army in Europe during the Second World War. Some of the old original steel 'nissan' type huts still remain but most of the site is now covered by modern and convenient business units. The connection to the nearby main South Wales / Gloucester railway line was removed sometime during the 1960s.
