CFB Shilo is home to the 1st Regiment Royal Canadian Horse Artillery and the 2nd Battalion, Princess Patricia's Canadian Light Infantry. The Museum of the Royal Regiment of Canadian Artillery is also in Shilo and it is considered to be the Home Station of the Royal Regiment.

The total area extends ESE to the sand dunes. The RCA Museum includes the only regimental colours ever awarded to any artillery unit in the British Commonwealth and/or Empire.
