The Rundle Plant is one of TransAlta's three plants on the Spray System, which is part of the Bow River Electric System in Alberta. Water from the Spray River passes into the Bow River through the Rundle Plant which has a net capacity of 50 mW.
The plant uses water from the Spray Lakes Storage Reservoir, which was created by the Canyon Dam to the south, and the Three Sisters dam to the north.
