  During the 80s this mountain range are the habitat of various wild animals particularly monkey where its name speaks. With vast numbers of hardwood trees standing tall this area is almost forest and green. Wild deer, wild boar and the great Philippine eagle known as the monkey-eating eagle was a common sitings on this mountain. Due to ruthless illegal logging this mountain range is in its state of baldness where dead grass take the place of the tree as an evidence of its slow destruction.
