  • This is one of the pioneer colleges of India. It is named after Mr.Cotton - the imminent British educationist of the era - who used to live in a very modest Assam-Cottage nearby from where he started the long journey of this college. An innumerable numbers of academicians, scholars, scientists and professionals of national and international repute, remained the students of this great institution. I was a student of this college in early '60s. Prof. Narul Hussan and then Prof. Hareswar Goswami was our Principal then. They were not only great scholars & administrators, but remained path-finders and father-figures for us. I remember all of our science faculties who were devoted-teachers & noble friends. I fondly remember our most spirited & dynamic Students-Union-Leader 'Nripen Goswami' who is still going strong on the political map of Assam; And where are you 'Ghana-Kokai'( Ghana Gogoi -"Mr.Cotton" - the Body-Builder) ?
