Some people call it Idler's Beach ... whatever.
It was a safe place to go for a swim in the seventies. Don't know about today (Feb09).
Maybe not ...

  • This is not the Idles Bay beach that was popular in the 70's. This is a village called Roku, it would have been a very small village in the 70's. The beach that was popular was in the 70's is outside the bay closer to the World War 2 gun emplacements
  • Hi Bill, Good to see you are still alive. Have you checked out Ilimo Farm yet ?
  • All the maps from the seventies call this location Idler's Bay. Are you sure about your comment above, wchapman?
  • This is Idler's Bay (aka Roku Bay). The popular beach that wchapman mentioned is Konebada Point, and is just to the south of Idler's Bay, down from the Basilisk Battery (WWII). People would refer to that as Idler's beach as well. Yes, Roku village was very small in the 70's.
