House constructed by engineer Bob Murphy. Bob Murphy was an engineer responsible for designing and patenting a part for airplanes that reduced noise. He became insantly wealthy from the patent and built this estate on a former farm property in the mid 1980's. Mr. Murphy is responsible for overhauling Quicksilver Golf Course in McDonald, PA. The golf course is one of the most challenging in Pittsburgh and has hosted Senior PGA and Hooters/Nike Tour events and U.S. Open qualifyers. Mr. Muprhy also brought the Pittsburgh Piranhas of the minor league Continental Basketball Association (1994-95).
