Roskilde University is a state university founded in 1972 with the objective of providing research and education at the highest level in
the fields of natural science, social science and the humanities.
These activities at Roskilde University are organised in ten departments; degrees are offered in a wide range of subjects at Bachelor,
Master and Ph.D. levels.

Located a few kilometres to the east of the town of Roskilde and approximately 30 kilometres west of the Danish capital,
Copenhagen, the University is the daily place of work for around 8000 students, 700 researchers and lecturers as well as 250
technical/administrative staff in the 50 buildings which comprise the campus. The University has its own printing press, which
provides for the printing of everything from project reports and research reports to RUCNyt; the official newspaper of the University,
issued every month.

  • Korallen is also perhaps the most expensive collegium that you can find in the Copenhagen area. The university is charging an expensive rent from rooms that are dirty, lack furniture, have technical problems, and are not even finished yet (the construction work is delayed with a year). I would recommend other accommodation options for students arriving at Denmark!
