Kendriya Vidyalaya, Baripada is one among the link in the chain of 979 Kendiya Vidyalayas throughout the length & breadth of the country. KV, Baripada had its inception in 1987. It has given the status of Modal Kendriya Vidyalaya by Ministry of HRD, Govt. of India in the year 2000. This K.V. as a pioneering educational institution cateris to the needs of Central Govt. Employees and other categories of people of North Orissa.

This learning center covers an area of 16 acres of land located in a serene eco-friendly environment situated 8 kms away from the District headquarter of Mayurbhanj, free from din & bustle of city life which provides an ideal atmosphere, quite conducive to academic pursuit. This Vidyalaya is empowered with learning & experienced faculty of about 30 members. We have classes starting from Pre-Primary to Class XII with one section each and is affiliated to CBSE, New Delhi and our medium of instruction is Hindi & English. The school timing is from 7.30 am to 1.40 pm. with 6 days in a week except second Saturday. The activity of the Vidyalaya begins with morning assembly for 15 minutes followed by instructional work. The Vidyalay keeps a close watch on all the learning outcomes of the students through continuous and comprehensive evaluation beginning on 1st April and ends on 31st March. To keep pace with the fast growing needs of the hour and make the students well informed, teaching of Computer, vocational skills, Spoken English, Adventure, Scout & Guides, Games & Sports has been incorporated into the curriculum.
