13th 'Gideon' Infantry Battalion
Assigned to 1st Golani Infantry Brigade

In the Yom Kippur War, the Battalion 13 North alert line where many positions manned which suffered heavy shelling, but held on and took intelligence division seven regional war. In the Lebanon War, the battalion participated in Operation Litani fighters was aimed at eliminating enemy based along the strip of southern Lebanon.

Operation 'Peace for Galilee' battalion participated in the Village Seal and Gideon battalion was involved in the IDF's ongoing effort to surround Beirut. After the Lebanon war the battalion participated in the long slow process of withdrawal of IDF forces from Lebanese territory. Since then, the battalion continues to operate in the ongoing activity northern border towns and West Bank in the Gaza Strip.
