Maa Kamakhya Coke Industry (Guwahati)

Maa Kamakhya Coke Industry which is polluting the entire environment of the region by release of its toxic effluent to air and water. This industry is been illegally installed here ignoring the greater concern of the people residing here. Moreover the this region is flourishing as a institutional area like IIT Guwahati. The air pollutant released from this industry will definitely have health impacts on the IIT Campus and also the residence of the people living in the vicinity of the the coke industry. Once Assam Pollution Control Board has banned the operating of this coke industry but how come all of a sudden they have given green signal to it????? It is very difficult to accept how Assam Government can permit such a industry(Coke), ignoring the environmental and socio-economic impacts on the region..The place is where Coke industry is installed is also a wetland which acts as a reservoir during the flood and also habitat of many migratory birds. Many families depend of the wetland for thier livelihood as fisherman. Lastly the people residing near the coke industry including the nearby IIT campus is going to face a serious health threat after 2-3 yrs if the coke industry is allowed to operate here....so whoever come across this comment please raise your voice against it to protect the helpless local people and the prestigious institute of IIT Guwahati from the hand of the selfish, corrupted money making burocrats..
