Lakeview Golf Course is the successor to the High Park Golf Club which was founded in 1899. Located near Grenadier Pond in High Park, Toronto, and under pressure from urban development, the High Park Golf Club acquired 97 acres in Lakeview, in 1907 on both sides of the Canadian National Railway. Within a year an 18 hole course was constructed with 9 holes located south of the railway and 9 holes north of the railway.

With the acquisition of an additional 41 acres in 1911, another 9 holes were built north of the railway and the lands to the south of the railway were sold. At the same time the name of the club was changed to Lakeview Golf & Country Club. In 1920 the course was redesigned by Herbert Strong. After a fire destroyed the 1912 clubhouse in 1939, the present facility was constructed.

Following the death of one of the owners and the threat of urban development, the property was leased in 1957 by the Township of Toronto, which renamed the club Lakeview Municipal Golf Course. In 1965, Toronto Township purchased the golf course which is now owned by the City of Mississauga.

The 6,140 yard, par 71 course is open to the public.
