Kaunas Rokai secondary school started its life as a primary school, which was opened in 1919. Her headmasters for a long time were A.Valiūnas, V.Užkuraitytė-Rimienė, B.Paužaitė-Miniotienė, J.Gerulis, O.Nečiūnienė. School changed its location within the village five times.

A new eight-year school was built in 1968 on the right slope of Jiesia landscape reserve. Its pupils were transfered from Patamušėlis eight-year, Rokai ir Rokeliai primary schools and some other schools within Kaunas. Its headmaster from 1968 to 1978 was Vl. Čižikas.

In 1987 the school had an extension built with new spacious classrooms, cafeteria and a big sports hall, and was promptly reorganized into Rokai secondary school. Since 1981 the school is led by headmaster St. Jucevičius.
