The firehouse is Austin’s busiest station, which includes Ladder 1, Engine 1, and Engine 50. The station was built in the 1930′s and houses the Austin Fire Museum.

The Museum is open to the public twice a year during our San Jacinto Day Celebration in April and for Austin Museum Day in September. It features AFD relics dating as far back as the 1870′s, including a Hook and Ladder No. 1 lantern, uniform pieces from the turn of the century, and memorabilia from Texas’ first African American firefighters.
