Maddur situated between Bangalore and Mysore is very famous for its Maddur Vada. Historically known as Arjunapuri, had a fort later dismantled by Britishers. Narasimha Swamy Temple and Varadaraj Swamy Temples represent this town's historical signficance. During the freedom struggle, Mahatma Gandhi had visited this place and delivered speach. Satyagraha Soudha is the memorial standing in the place where Mahatma Gandhi had delivered his speach.
