The Battle of Obertyn (September 22, 1531) was fought between Moldavian Prince Petru Rareş and Polish King Zygmunt Stary, in the town of Obertyn, north of the Dniester River, now in Ukraine. The battle ended with a Polish victory and the reconquest of Pokutia.

  • Pocutia should be to the Romanians, it was given by Petru I Mushat to the polish king, as a guarantee for some money, because the polish had some problems with the teutons. The Moldavians didn't give back all the money so the polish took it. Was ocupied by Holy Stephen the Great, but was taken by the polish after his death.
