US Airways Flight 1549 was a scheduled commercial passenger flight from LaGuardia Airport in New York City to Charlotte, North Carolina.
On January 15, 2009, while climbing through an altitude of 3,200 feet (980 m) roughly two minutes after takeoff, the crew reported a loss of engine power and that their twin-jet Airbus A320 had experienced a bird strike incident. The flight then ditched in the Hudson River about six minutes after takeoff. It was a miracle that all on board survived the accident.
