  back in the mid-60's, my father used to take the 4 boys there on weekends in our runabout. people had built a regular playground on the top at the head. the beach on the ky side wise 100' wide. almost completely gone now.

  When I was in my 20s, friends & I would take a houseboat & dock at 12 mile island - what fun we had, dancing eating & relaxing. Fond memories of that place.
