The building was built in 1824-1826 (or 1823-1825). Initially it belonged to the Director of the Imperial Theaters, Aleksandr Mikhailovich Gideon (1791-1867)and then it passed to Colonel N. Annenkov. The author Mikhail Lermontov visited here on April 18 1841 Mikhail Lermontov.

Reconstruction and restoration works on the mansion, including the carriage house, all interiors and facades, as well as land improvement and beautification were carried out between 2000-2007. The Kremlin Museum uses this annex as a work place for the Museum's science departments.
