The California Conservation Corps is the oldest and largest conservation corps in the nation. CCC is for young men and women ages 18 to 25. Openings are available year-round. CCC is basically a one-year residential program. Corpsmembers can leave at any time. Those who successfully complete a year are eligible for the CCC scholarship and are eligible to take advantage of additional Corps opportunities.

The CCC's Ukiah Center is located on the East side of the Ukiah Valley at the base of the Mayacaama Mountains. Approximately 75% of the work the Ukiah Center corpsmembers are engaged in involves watershed enhancement. Ukiah corpsmembers also work on trail construction projects for the Bureau of Land Management and CA State Parks. The Ukiah Center construction crews have helped construct State Park visitor centers and cabins, miles of elevated boardwalk, baseball dugouts, and over a dozen bridges spanning creeks in Mendocino and Lake County.
