Changdok School (Pyongyang)

This primary school, serving the population of apartment dwellers on Kwangbok Street. It was founded as a private school on April 1, 1907 by Kang Ton-uk; later, the school was nationalized. Kim Il-sung is said to have studied here starting in 1923. A reconstruction of the original two-room schoolhouse is located on the premises.
The school is often used for national academic contests and cultural exchanges.
