  • A.G. Square has been named so as the Office of the Accountant General for the State of Orissa is housed adjacent to this important as well as prominent square of Bhubaneswar. On its noth-western side the A.G. office is located, while on its north-eastern side the old Bhubaneswar Bus Stand is located(it currently houses the office of the CMD, Orissa State Road Transport Cooperation) as well as acts as the terminus for the Volvo Bus Service to Kolkatta. On its south-eastern side the Indian Airlines ticketing(booking) office is located and on its south-western side Indira English Medium School(in memmory of former Prime Minister Late Smt. Indira Gandhi). Also, Babasaheb Shri. B.R. Ambedkar's(The Father of the Indian Constitution and the First Union Law Minister of India) life size statue is located in between the A.G. office and Indira English Medium school. The upkeep of the adjoining manicured lawns of the statue as well of the statue itself is maintained by the B.D.A. which also operates a colourful fountain on the regular basis (which too is on the premises of Babasaheb's statue).
