The Institution is located in Barton Hill, which is two kilometers from the city center in Trivandrum. It was started in order to have a center of excellence to focus on the latest in Technology, and to augment the demand for Engineering education in Kerala. The institute primarily has four major departments viz. Electronics and Communication, Information Technology , Electrical and Electronics and Mechanical Engineering.
