There is an old clock tower hidden in the middle of this relatively modern housing estate. Little information is available on the history of this tower or why it is here - though it looks as though it was once rather higher.

  • The clock tower was originally on the top of the hospital that used to occupy this site. The remains of the building's portico are also retained as a feature, opposite the clock tower. Local history booklets of Tooting have photos of the hospital from a century ago. Also retained are the gates and walls of the entrances from both Rectory Lane and Church Lane.
