A massive landslide occurred in Bukit Antarabangsa at 4.00 am Saturday December 6, 2008 involving 14 bungalow houses.

As of 10.45am, four people are confirmed dead;
SHAIFUL KHAS SHAHRUDIN - 20 # Student Kolej Yayasan Pelajaran Mara
N. YOGESWARY - 40 # Veterinar Doctor
NG YEE PENG - 30 # Accountant
SUAENAH - 30 # Maid (Indonesian)
SRI LANKAN - 30 # (maid)
and 14 injured.

The landslide cut off the main road access to the residential areas at Bukit Antarabangsa, trapping hundreds of residents. A total of 3,000 to 5,000 residents in the vicinity of the landslide are going to be evacuated.

  • Takziah kepada keluarga mangsa yang meninggal...congrate to developer...happy of money for Goverment..balik balik suruhanjaya khas nak ditubuhkan..pastu diam selepas 3-4 bulan..tengok jer la kes highland tower..kata nak kaji kaji kaji dan kaji perumahan di lereng bukit atau atas bukit..tapi buat jugak...memang action of GOD susah nak di ramal..di hindar..but GOD gave us brain to avoid disaster..

  • Alasan diberikan sama je mcm dulu gak... pergerakan air bawah tanah. Sepatutnya carilah sebabnya, kemudian selesaikan, ini tak.. jawapan itu dibiarkan tergantung tanpa penyelesaiannya. Air tu datang dari mana agaknya, kalau bukan dari kawasan yg dah dibangunkan tu. Jika air itu tidak disalirkan dgn teratur dari kwsn tsb menyebabkan ia meresap ke bwh permukaan tanah dan menyumbang kpd ketidak stabilan struktur tanah. Kekerapan banjir kilat merupakan satu dpd petanda awal kpd trajedi spt ini. Apa yg dilakukan oleh pihak berkuasa tempatan?

Verily, those who believe [in the Oneness of Allah and in His Messenger (Muhammad )] and work deeds of righteousness, the Most Beneficent (Allah) will bestow love for them (in the hearts of the believers). 97. So We have made this (the Qur'an) easy in your own tongue (O Muhammad ), only that you may give glad tidings to the Muttaqun (pious and righteous persons - See V.2:2), and warn with it the Ludda (most quarrelsome) people.   • KUALA LUMPUR, WED: The next few months look bleak for homeowners thinking of selling their properties in Bukit Antarabangsa after Saturday’s landslide. Real estate agencies foresee a major depreciation in property value in the area, with public perception skewed against the posh neighbourhood. One property expert said the landslide had brought the market to a standstill. Another agreed that that perception would be the biggest hurdle in moving property sales in the area. Task Force Action committee vice-president Raymond Jagathesan then took to task Zerin Properties Group chief executive officer Previndran Singhe for his comments on property prices there. Previndran was quoted by the New Straits Times today as saying that he did not think that the properties in Bukit Antarabangsa had any value at all, even if it dropped to RM10,000 as people just won’t buy because they valued their lives more. “People have invested their life savings into this area; it is not fair to tell them that their homes and investments are worth next to nothing now. This is not the right time for these comments, why don’t they assist us instead,” Raymond added.
