Praia Grande beach

Lovely large-ish beach, good surfing all year round. Especially good to visit off-season, as the locals are friendly and the business that remain open all year-round welcome off-peak patronage.

Some landmarks include "Hangover fountain" (seriously — it has a plaque, we offered it to the owner of a nearby kiosk about 16 years ago) and several "Here I go" inscriptions by the main sidewalk recorded by night surfers around that time.
Boisterous during the summer, quiet during the winter, it is a place of significant "rough" beauty and a good place to "hang out".
