 cliff, interesting place

Westernmost point of mainland Europe, Cabo da Roca was the old "Magnum Promontorium" of the Romans. It is the western end of the submerged part of the Eruptive Massif of Sintra, a local highlight of the coast of high cliffs, and essentially a rocky outcrop of syenite where they is also eruptive breccias. The biological richness, notably a unique flora that includes rare and endangered species, is determined by the orientation of the dominant north-westerly winds loaded with moisture, and the presence of the sea and by the occurrence the frequent fog.
