First time I went was in 2005. In "downtown" Santa Cruz there was this older man, dressed in a pink outfit with a pink umbrella, who would walk up and down the sidewalks slowly with a huge smile on his face. Very interesting characters there. I recall a sticker that read "Keep Santa Cruz Weird". Yes, that's it!
