USA / California / Mammoth Lakes /
 mountain, summit, climbing area

Elevation 12,281 feet.
This is the highest peakof the Minaret chain, which is itself part of the Ritter Range, a dark metamorphic core of the ancient Sierra.
Clyde is not only the highest but also the most massive of the minarets.
Excellent routes abound on this peak, from easy class 4 to difficult multi-pitch climbs found on the steep south face.
The Southeast Face (IV, 5.8) is considered a Sierra classic. The most popular route is the Rock Route, one of the most sustained class 3 routes in the Sierra (with one class 4 move). There are a number of other class 3-5 routes on this side facing Cecile Lake.
