  • The setting aside of this land by the department of fish and game and also by the Army corps of engineers far predates the Clinton administration. This land was designated as a protected habitat in the 1980s as a result of a deal between the Army Corps of Engineers and Barrat development, in penalty as a consequence of Barrat having illegally bulldozed a natural creek bed at another development location.
