Simhachalam konda
Simhachalam is dedicated to the incarnation (Avatar) of Vishnu known as Narasimha (the man-lion)
Hiranyakasipu was a Rakshasa (demon) king
He got a boon from Lord Brahma;
that he should become immortal;
that he could not be killed
-by any animal or a man
-neither in the morning nor in the night,
-by any weapons,
-neither in sky.
He wanted the entire world to worship him
Prahalada, his son, was a devotee of Lord Narayana & meditated in the name of Narayana.
This angered Hiranyakasipu & tried to kill his son.
Prahalada surrendered to Lord Narayana.
Lord with the conditions of boon took Narasimha (Lion-Man) avatar and killed the demon king.
