Albay Gulf is a large gulf in the southern part of Luzon island, Philippines.
The place has been one of the tourist spots in the province because of the frequent sightings of Butandings (whale shark) in the coastal areas. The government has then taken actions requesting concerned sectors to test if the available planktons which are eaten by sea creatures sufficient for their survival. In 1997, Butanding was once sighted in Donsol town in Sorsogon. Their presence made the town's tourism boom to earn the title "whale shark capital of the world."
