Castle in Kladruby nad Labem is a part of the National stud farm. Kladruby nad Labem is situated in the Elbe basin in areas favorable for breeding of horses, so there was first the stud farm and secondarily Emperor Maximilian II. build a castle in the second half of the 16th century. In the castle stands also the church of St. Wenceslas and Leopold.
Old Kladruby horses are one of the oldest breeds of horses. This is a warmblood breed, incurred on the basis of old Spanish and old Italian blood, a huge carriage horse, designed to ceremonial and representative service. Old Kladruby horse was recognized in 1995 as the cultural heritage and Kladruby Stud Farm as the national cultural monument.
