Water castle in Drevohostice was originally a Gothic stronghold in the 14th century. At the turn of the 16th and 17 century it had substantially rebuilt in the Renaissance style of Karel Starší from Žerotín. The author of customization was perhaps the Italian architect Girolamo Vlach. The building to accommodate transit Gothic tower and gate framed embossed Renaissance portal. Apparently the finish is also building a massive wall around the castle, before which he was a moat fed nearby creek. Interior architect decorated arches above the arcaded gallery, resting on pillars prism (ground floor) and Tuscan columns (first floor). The next reconstruction was already in the Baroque period. Outer fortification let equip dimensional circular towers in 1649 Jan Kaltschmied of Eisenberk. In 1844 were adjusted facades and arcades, while there was to expand the park to remove fortifications.
Today, the castle form of two-storey four-wing building (38 x 31 m) around a small courtyard. On three sides of the courtyard is a Renaissance arcade. Above the south entrance doors, the five-storey tower. The entrance is decorated with a Renaissance portal. The fortifications have survived the rest of the wall with two towers south of the castle and part of the moat. The remains of a Gothic fortress are still recognizable in the ground around the entrance and the southern corner. Chapel. John of Nepomuk, the castle used to be, has ceased to exist and its facilities serve the purposes of the educational institution.
Around the castle was a small park with exotic trees and shrubs, in the 19th century chateau owners have close pheasant and extensive greenhouses with oranges and figs. Greenhouses are now closed and in their place is a new development.
After the purchase of the castle served his community building in the years 1898 - 1901 as a hostel for tourists in the period 1901 - 1919 Jubilee unity philanthropist here in Moravia operated Reformatory youth morally abandoned. Subsequently, it was adapted to the school that it works in the years 1919-1956. After further adaptation took over the castle in 1965, Department of Social Welfare. Currently set up in front of the castle of social housing, the castle premises serving since 2005 as an exhibition gallery space Amart, also are held various cultural events.
The castle is a local legend about the White Lady.
