SAHS - is a private, sectarian, and Roman Catholic school under the Diocese of Bukidnon. It is also a member of the Bukidnon Association of Catholic Schools (BUACS). It is currently situated right in the heart of Maramag City. Its name derives from the same name of the Parish of the city, San Andres (St. Andrew) - who is one of the 12 Apostles of Jesus Christ.

The school was established in the late 1950's under the initiative of a certain priest from Roman Catholic Order, the Society of Jesus (SJ)(who was also the incumbent parish priest at that time) and through the collaborative effort of the local community. From then on, the school had acquired a permit to operate from the Department of Education which was renewable every year. Furthermore, the enrollment of the school was dramatically increasing every year. And so with the school site, from a small land area in its former location (the current location of the Land Bank of the Philippines) to a bigger area now in its present location.

In the late 1960's, through the initiative and great effort of the late Precioso Velez ABELLANOSA - the incumbent school principal at that time and who happened also to be the composer and arranger of the great Hym of the school, "The Andresian Hym", the school had acquired an special order of Recognition Status from the Bureau of Secondary Education - Department of Education, recognizing this academic institution as one of the Secondary School in the country.

Since then, the school has now transformed its status from a mere parochial school to a recognized Private Secondary School in the Philippines up to this very moment. And for this reason, the school must abide all the DepEd Orders, Memos. and other implementing guidelines.
Finally, the school is currently expanding as far infrastructures and other projects are concerned. Furthermore, it also continue to produce great leaders with great competence, commitment and conscience here in the Philippines even in abroad.

  • SIr Precioso Abellanosa lectured us in Economics and Social Studies subjects apart from his responsibilities as Principal of the School. Honestly, he was a visionary and revolutionary. VIsionary, because he saw things happening for the honor and glory of the School. REvolutionary, because he equipped us with tools and skills to excel beyond our capabilities coupled with his enthusiasm and excellent disciplinary work ethics as examples for us to follow. Modesty aside, sometime in 1965, I was one of the Team Members that represented the School in the Annual Inter-Parochial School Competions, Xavier University, Cagayan de Oro City. Subjects were Mathematics, Social Studies and Sciences. San Andres High School received awards and honors for getting excellent ratings. Personally, Xavier University offered me Scholarship in any college of my choice. Apart from this, the United States offered me scholarship in their American Field Service (AFS) Program of President John F. Kennedy in any schools of the USA.   • Sir Precioso Abellanosa was my mentor even after high school days. I planned to take my Civil Engineering at the University of Mindanao (UM), Davao City in academic scholarship. Towards the last hour of my enrolment, I decided to take up Accounting. This was a blessing in disguise, as I found the right connections for my goals --CPA Board Exams and Career. In my second year (1967), Mr. Ernesto Violan, a CPA practitioner accepted my proposal for apprenticeship at his office. My services will be gratis in consideration for free board and lodging. As mentors, Sir Precioso Abellanosa and Mr. Violan had about 60 years work experiences, which I was able to harness for consultancy. In 1968, I became a Student Leader and called me "the darling of Maramag, Bukidnon" and elected as Commerce Congressman for the Union of Student Government (USSG). As Congressman, I passed a bill known as "Student Educational Loan Fund", or in short called SELF, the objective is to help students take exams while they sign promissory notes that their tuition fees are on the way, and cater mostly to farmer parents. The University of Mindanao fund the bill for implementation immediately and was called the "Ombina Loan Fund". Towards my senior year (1970), this was the highest point of student activism. The USSG submitted about 77 demands of the students ranging from class size to 40, toilets and rate of return that UM is allowed to pay as dividends, tuition fee hikes, etc. I was chosen to do technical work as one of the Team Members of the Student Panel. Our spokesman was Mr. Bonifacio Tamayo and the Administration was Mr. Uldarico Dumdum. Out of 77 demands, 72 were approved by both parties or 96 per cent butting average. It was a team collaboration as we did our homework. True enough, I maintained my academic scholarship consistently and I passed the CPA Board Exams without any formal review as my mentors taught me to budget my time and methods.   • In gratitude to Sir Precioso Abellanosa, I wrote a Poem about "The Changes of Life in a Person". Very briefly, life undergoes a lot of changes. Age of Epiphany 0 to 10 is a time of awe, when everything seems new When every day is fun and games, and fairy tales come true When we depend on Mama and Papa, to tell us what to do And where our lives are going next, we don't have a clue. Age of Reason 11 to 20 is a time of growth, when it is cool to join a team When our hopes and fears swirl all around, like pictures in a dream When many things we thought were true, are not nearly what they seem And we know a lot about some things, but we are not sure what they mean. Age of Adolescence 21 to 30 is a time of hope, when we pledge our souls and hearts When the thought of being parents, is a lot like throwing darts When we sometimes feel like children, who are playing grown-up parts And there is no one there to teach the game or to tell us when it starts. Age of Maturity 31 to 40 is the time of stress, when we need to raise the bar When we are just asking questions, and still learning who we are When careers are most important, and we have a fancy car And our kids are too demanding and they are pushing us too far. The Middle Age 41 to 50 is a time to heal, when we start to see the light When our mid-life clocks are ticking, and wake us up at night When we are staring in the mirror, and we do not like the sight And we question if our path in life is one that is really right. Age of Pre-Retirement 51 to 60 is a time to plan, when we build financial base When we control our world and time, by slowing down the pace When our kids have left the nest, and now have their own place And the dream of reaping life 's rewards brings laughter to one's face. The Golden Years 61 plus is a time of joy, when we have finally won the game When we can make up all the rules, and forget about the blame When we count our kids among our friends, and they feel just the same And our job chasing is grandkids, and remembering all their names.   • As a new CPA in 1970, I had to see Sir Precioso Abellanosa in Maramag, Bukidnon for thanksgiving and gratitude as my Mentor. Also, I received a briefing from him on my Career Path. Meanwhile, my parents hosted a big party for another milestone in my life. On October 1970, University of Mindanao Vice President Pedro Torres offered me an Accounting Instructor. Also, he recommended and wrote a very sweet referral letter to Davao Fruits Corporation (DFC) citing my excellent negotiation skills as a Student Leader. DFC is a huge banana grower and exporter to. Japan. With three (3) jobs at hand - UM Teacher, DFC employee and CPA practitioner, I had to formulate a Marketing Plan for my career. The objectives of this exercise is to work on a brand name and image, to define my mission, vision, and goals. I put this in writing and keep it in my wallet. Everyday, I read it to strengthen my focus and to internalise it in my System. Following the Law of Attraction and I quote: "1. I will channel my mind towards prosperity and success by keeping my thoughts as much as possible on the major goal I have set for myself. "2. I will free my mind of self-made limitations by drawing on the power of God through unlimited faith. "3. I will keep my mind free of greed and covetousness by sharing my blessings with those who are worthy to receive them. "4. I will substitute a positive type of discontent for indolent self-satisfaction so that I may continue to learn and grow both physically and spiritually. "5. I will keep an open mind on all subjects and towards all people so that I may rise above intolerance. "6. I will look for good in others so I may rise above indiscretion. "7. I will avoid self-pity. Under all circumstances, I will seek stimulation to greater effort. "8. I will recognise and respect the difference between the material things I need and desire and my rights to receive them. "9. I will cultivate the habit of going the extra mile and always rendering more and better service than is expected. "10. I will turn adversity and defeat into assets by remembering that they always carry with them the seed of equivalent benefits. "11. I will always conduct myself towards others in such manner that I may never be ashamed to face the man I greet at the mirror each morning. "12.
