Storm Water Pond

When the wooded area here was cut down to build Montgomery Blair High School, it was required that they leave a small area as a wild wetlands. This pond is the result. It's sometimes used for environmental science classes. Don't try and climb back there unless you know what you're doing, trust me.

This area is most likely a storm water retention device that controls run-off and erosion. It does not appear to be an actual pond that retains water, except during storms, after which the water is slowly absorbed.
