Later Gothic castle was erected by nobleman Burghard of Janovice in the end od 14th century. Till 1474-1947 was in the property of Count of Lobkowitz, after the White Mountain Battle in 1620 was the castle a center af strong recatolicism of the region and many of Czech evangelicals was kept in the castle prison. Till 1947 to 1980s served the castle as the army site and then expensive repair works were made. After 1990 was the castle restituted to Lobkowitzs and disposed of. At present has been the castle in property of Riprand Count of Arco-Zinneberg and unaccessible.
