Chervonyi Maiak is a settlement in the Beryslav district of the Kherson region of Ukraine.
The population made 1883 peoples in obedience to the census of 2001 year.
To the ancient settling of this territory testify Neolithic burial ground, burial mound burial places of epoch of bronze, and also two skifian-sarmatian places and burial ground which discovered here.
In 1781 tsar's government selected earth for foundation of monastery in place of modern Chervonyi Maiak, near the Propasna beam.
The first monks created in 1783 the Sofrony pustyn and dened, caved in precipices (their tailings were saved to our days).
20 years later from the Smolensk province of Russia the Byzyukov monastery was transported here.
Since he got the official name - Grygorye-Byzyukov friary.
