Wreck of USS Spruance (DD-963)

The namesake ship of her Class of Destroyers for the US Navy, the USS Spruance served with the US Navy from 1975 to 2005 and at the time of her decommissioning was the longest serving member of her Class.

Held in reserve for a little over a year following her decommissioing, the Spruance was selected for use as a target ship and towed to this location where she was sunk on December 8th, 2006 by air-launched Harpoon Anti-Ship Missiles.
