  Thakazhy is a beautiful village in the Kuttanad taluk of Alappuzha District in Kerala, 6 km east of Ambalapuzha. The place is famous for a Sastha temple which attracts large number of devotees every year. The famous novelist and Jnanapith award winner Thakazhi Sivasankara Pillai was born in this village. The land has vast rice fields which makes it beautiful. Cochin International Airport is the nearest airport and the railway station is at Alappuzha.

Main importance in this place is, Thakazhy Sastha Temple (second sabarimala), Thakazhy Sivasankara pillai (Thakazhy chettan), Thakazhy Kuttan Pillai (Famous Kathakali Singer), and lot.... Thakazhy is a village in Kuttanadu thaluk and in Alapuzha District, Kerala. Two famous schools like Thakazhy Govt.School and Devasam Board High School are the main educational fecilities. Boundaries are, Karumadi in east side, Purakkad in South side, Edathua in East Side, Champakulam in West side. National Highway is the important road in this village for travel facility which connecting thiruvalla & ambalapuzha. Thakazhy Railways stations helping people for rail journey. Now this line become inportant in Southern railway comparing Kottayam route.
