  • Kappukad junction is very people crowd place. The Pilgrims are carrying milk pot procession from Martandam temple (Martandam Kaalaichanthai south down)to Koottalumudu Amman Temple on the way in Kappukad. The pilgrims of Lord Shiva, Mahasivaratri day (Saliyam Ottam), they are run on the way of Kappukad to 12 Shivalaya temples in Kayakumari District from Thirumalai Temple in Munchirai. Kappukad situated peoples are attended to see the programmed. The Vilathurai (Vellachi vilai) temple festival, the elephant procession passed in this way to Edayattuvilai Sree Krishnan Koil temple. Many peoples are attended the procession. It is very beautiful. Many contractors meet the labours in the junction of buying daily wages. The labours from Vayakarai, Vilathurai, Marayapuram, Peruvilai,Edayathattu, Puliarai Mangattan Vilai, Mathiyagonam, Kuzhivattam, Mulankuzhi and other areas meet the contractors and buy the wages. Around about 2 KM people are came to Kappukad and purchase the needed things. No more shops are being there. So Many crowd in Kappukad at evening. The shops, Fish market and Hotels are very busy.
