Muhammad Ali opened the camp in 1972 to rebound from his loss to Joe Frazier in the "Fight of the Century". He trained here for the legendary "Rumble in the Jungle" with George Foreman and "Thrilla in Manilla" rematch with Frazier, and continued to use the camp until his last fight against Trevor Berbick in 1981. A lot of celebrities used to visit the camp including Sylvester Stallone, Frank Sinatra, Elvis Presley, Dizzy Gillespie, Andy Warhol, The Jackson Five & Sammy Davis Jr. Fighters who trained here included Sugar Ray Leonard, Larry Holmes, and in later years, a young Mike Tyson.. It was recently used as a bed & breakfast.
