Established in 1906, the Solvay, 46 ac., coke plant produced coke (a by product of coal which burns a lot hotter, used for blast furnaces) from 200 coke ovens. The Company ceased production in 1983. The northern portion of the property was occupied until 2003 by Wisconsin Scrap & Recycling, a concrete recycler.
