Jefferson Community and Technical College is comprehensive, two-year college, and it is the largest in the Kentucky Community and Technical College System.
Jefferson offers a wide-range of academic and technical programs to prepare students to study for a four-year degree or to enter a career.
The college offers associate degrees, pre-baccalaureate education, diploma and certificate programs in occupational fields; adult, continuing and developmental education; customized training for business and industry; and distance learning.
The college also is the state's largest provider of on-line courses, available through Kentucky Virtual University.
Jefferson was formed on July 1, 2005, with the consolidation of Jefferson Community College and Jefferson Technical College, two long-standing Louisville-based colleges.
As part of KCTCS, Jefferson offers students more options by allowing credits to transfer across different KCTCS campuses.
Both the community and technical colleges benefit from KCTCS' innovative efforts to expand affordable educational opportunities throughout the state.
