This is the Althara, where the ALTHARAMELAM takes place during MAYYANAD THIRU ULSAVAM. Translated, it stands for the place where the Big Banyan tree stands, below which the famed Altharamelam (a series of instrumental, mostly percussion instrument, are played during the annual temple fest.
