The oldest but by far still the largest park in the city where locals come here with family and friends to jog around the lake especially during mornings and evenings. Those who wish to hike Bukit Padang to get an unforgettable bird's eye view of Kota Kinabalu city can also do so. Fresh air and the harmony of nature, including bird calls and cicadas are sure to make even the most stressed out city folk, stress free.

For visitors on a tight budget, this part is served with satisfactory public transport. The Luyang bus (no. 11 or 12) stops nearby. Admission is free 24 hours a day.
