Completed in 1908, the building served as a dormitory for tens of thousands of students and faculty until it was closed in 1972. The first building on the campus named for an individual, it honors James Reeder, one of the stockholders listed in the original 1856 charter of the Edinboro Academy. The restored building was reopened in 1986 and now houses the offices of the president and other senior administrators; human resources and faculty relations; university planning, institutional research and continuous improvement; public relations; graduate studies and research; and an 85-seat lecture hall.
