very nice place to visit, by taking a small 1hr climbing from here , you can reach ghatghar village on top deccan pleatue. Shortcut for for ratangad, bhandardara, alang, kulang and madan fort ( for people coming from kalyan/mumbai side)

  • Ghatghar R.C.C. Dam-Roller Compacted Concrete a new technique, used first time in India for Upper Ghatghar dam and Lower Ghatghar dam. The project generates 250 MW (2x125MW). Reversible turbines. Electricity is generated during peak requirement hours and water is pumped up during lease hours.

  • Does SH 44 really exist upto Bhandardara Dam from Ghatghar lower dam as shown by google maps? Wikimapia doesn't show the same.
