The Radboud University Nijmegen is a university in Nijmegen, The Netherlands. Before 2004 the university was called Katholieke Universiteit Nijmegen, or Catholic University of Nijmegen. In 2004 it was renamed after the Radboud foundation, this foundation was named after Saint Radboud, a Catholic bishop who lived around 900.
The university's medical department is linked to the University Medical Center St Radboud which is a large teaching hospital, also located on the Heyendaal campus. The university buildings are scattered around the Heyendaal campus. New building projects include new halls of residence, a sports centre and several science buildings. The university campus is located right next to the Heyendaal railway station. Frequent shuttle buses connect the university to the Central Station and city centre.

The Radboud University offers numerous bachelor programmes and master programmes. The university is also home to research institutions like NanoLab Nijmegen, Nijmegen Institute for Cognition and Information and the F.C. Donders Centre for Cognitive Neuroimaging. In 2002 faculty member Henk Barendregt won the Spinozapremie. Theo Rasing won the Spinozapremie in 2008.
